I know it seems boring or pointless at first, but I’m telling you to JUST DO IT! You will be glad that you measured in the beginning so you can compare your changes throughout your progress!
To be honest the scale sometimes determines MY mood for the day and I HATE that! I’m trying to be better by not just using the scale to measure my progress because it is not always an accurate reading of your progress.
Think about it…would you rather the scale say a lower number or your clothes fit better? I’d rather my inches to go down and my jeans fit better than the scale moving. Remember, a lot of times we are pushing our bodies harder than we ever have and our bodies are in shock and our muscles are repairing and holding on to extra sodium. Read more about that from Beachbody’s Blog HERE and Chalene Johnson’s explanation HERE.
So long story short, there are a lot of other ways to track your progress than that darn scale! Did you last longer during your workout than last time? Then you are improving your cardiovascular system. Have you been sleeping better? Do you have more energy? Are you in a better mood? How do those goal jeans fit? Can you get into them, zip them up, button them up? I have been excited for each of those small victories I just mentioned with my goal jeans! Are you enjoying life more knowing you are making positive changes in your life?
