Do not love the world or anything in the world…. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life — comes not from the Father but from the world. (1 JOHN 2:15 – 16)
While Eve focused on the object of her temptation, Jesus kept his focus on God’s truth. What matters most to me?” –Lysa TerKeurst Made to Crave.
Crave – dictionary.com defines craving as something you long for, want greatly, desire eagerly, and beg for. God made us to crave so we’d always desire more of Him.
“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you…for the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and a pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.” 1 John 2: 15-16
Cravings are often misplaced physical desires. Trying to meet our needs outside the will of God.
– Physical – food
– Material – possessions
– Significance – pride in achievements
The story of Eve and the fruit of the tree she kept her focus on the object of her desire and did not consider the consequences.
When Jesus was tempted in Matthew 4 He kept His focus on God’s truth by pausing and remembering what matters most.
Two examples with completely different outcomes.
Dear Lord, please help me as I struggle with physical, material, and significance cravings. I know that only You can bring me lasting contentment for my cravings. Help me to pause today and reflect on what matters most. In Jesus’ name, Amen. – Made to Crave Prayer

What’s for breakfast? Share a picture in the group!
For some, having breakfast itself is not a problem; it’s what we’re eating that is not so great. For example, cereal is not the best option. It often has very little protein and is very processed with lots of artificial ingredients. Instead, some great breakfast ideas are: oatmeal for the week with lots of delicious ingredients added (fruit, almonds, a little honey) not the prepackaged stuff, eggs with veggies and toast, or Shakeology. Shakeology is a perfect option if you don’t have a lot of time and need a healthy, fast, on the go option.
