“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.”
1 Peter 5:6
“Doing something in order to be loved is a trap, but doing something because I am loved is incredibly freeing.” Lysa Terkeurst
Whoa!! Those words knocked me over! How many of us have done something or given something up in order to be loved or gain acceptance of others? I know I have! wanting to please others or doing things so people will “love” or accept you is a trap that is very difficult to escape.
But realizing that God LOVES you and wants what is best for you…THAT is freeing! Doing this because the Creator of the Universe wants you to be healthy, strong, and not anxious about anything…that is freeing! Whew!
Prayer for the Day: Dear Lord, I don’t want my motives to get skewed during my healthy eating journey. Help me to not be me-focused in this process. I long to be God-focused because I am loved by You. Thank You. IN Jesus Name, Amen. – Made to Crave Prayer
|Week of October 17th|
We are starting to feel like we have the hang of things!
It’s time to do your meal planning and prep. This is one area that is easy to slack on. But this is also the area I notice that slips me up the most if I don’t pay it careful attention!
So let’s not forget the most important part!
Here are some sample meal plans. The 21 Day Fix meal plan is awesome…You can use it with any workout because it is all about balance and portion control and teaching yourself NOT to DIET but to live a healthier lifestyle with a few splurges along the way.
Success is all about preparation! It’s Sunday and it’s time to plan out your meals for the week! You may not always feel like getting up and making a plan but it will save you from countless bad decisions as the week goes on. It will help you feel in control and give you a reason to stock the fridge with health choices.
Remember your weight loss and health goals this week. Just like setting goals for yourself in your professional life, you have to write them down, set a deadline and work towards them every day to reach them! So please take the time to do that in your health and fitness too!
Post your plan in the group, and get our minds in the right place to take on all the busy tasks we have this week, tell us any big obstacles you foresee this week…Let’s brainstorm how to over come them.
Recipe of the Day:
Such a refreshing salad that was super simple to whip up on a whim!
Everything about Ezekiel Bread is clean and fill you with nutrients. Ezekiel bread is sprouted grain and you can get wheat bread, raisin bread, pita bread and even corn tortillas.
You can find Ezekiel bread in the freezer section of your local grocery store. But, as with any grain product you MUST eat it in moderation.
I lightly toast mine. I like the crunch it and actually have started preferring this bread than regular bread.
