You are chosen.
You are treasured.
You are cherished.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
“In it’s proper content, eating is not the problem. God gave us food for nourishment, strength, and even celebration. The problem comes when pleasure is unrestrained.” Lysa TerKeurst Made to Crave
Food is not the enemy. Whether you’re overweight or not. Food is wonderful and a gift from God. It’s our insatiable desire for it that becomes the problem. There are clear times in my life that I craved, desired, thought about food a lot!!
There are STILL times that I do and struggle. I am a constant challenger in my challenge groups. If someone were to ask me how many times I ARRANGED my life around food, I would be unable to answer. Countless times!
Suffering from Hypothyroid issues I am held accountable to EVERY bite I take. Every pound I lose is a struggle. I constantly have to watch what I eat, or suffer the consequences or an upset stomach or a gain on the scale.
Food was my comfort. Food was my happiness at times and food was my comforter during sad at times.
We have mentioned this before, but honestly EVERYTHING is centered around food.
I realized it IS something I needed to surrender to HIS control. And God has revealed more to me on this journey than ever in my life. Through my personal transformation and as I help others as a coach, I have been forced to rely on HIM for strength and guidance. I discovered that pursuing a healthy lifestyle was one of the most significant spiritual journeys of my life because I want to be present and there for my family and do the will of God. And I hope you are discovering the same.
Prayer for the day: Dear Lord, if I’m being honest with myself and You, I know sometimes I rely on food more than I rely on You. I want to re-calibrate my soul and change for the right reasons. I want to see You in and through this entire process. Please be with me, Lord, each day. In Jesus’ name. Amen. – Made to Crave Prayer
It’s the Weekend!! And we all now they are HARD!!
So, think about the Faith section above and IF we are indulging this weekend for the right reasons.
Is what we are eating going to give us that feeling of guilt afterwards? Then it is not worth it!

Friday Quick Tips:
Make a Meal Plan and Grocery List before shopping! Find one HERE! Find a Blank Meal Planner HERE! (or in the FILES section of our group)
Grocery Store Tips: Shop the perimeter, stick to the outer walls of the store, avoid middle aisles! Think, all the freshest foods such as fruits, veggies, meats, are kept on the outer walls.
Make a plan to only shop the perimeter first and then work your way through the center aisles. By the time you get to the center aisles your cart will already be full to the brim with fresh eats!
Keep focused while browsing the center aisles. Food choices tower over you on each side. It is not necessary to shop every single aisle, skip it if you don’t need anything down it!
In the frozen food section, stay away from anything that says “one step”, “heat and serve or ready to go” meal in a box!
Learn to read nutrition labels and ingredients list. If you can’t pronounce some of the words or if they look like they belong in a science lab, put it back on the shelf!
When buying canned foods look for low sodium versions, salmon and tuna packed in water, and no extra sugars.
I hope this helps!
