Whether or not your meal plan is chicken scratched on a piece of paper or organized and typed out…either way it will help you succeed and stay on track for your upcoming week! Stick the meal plan on your refrigerator and use it to prep your meals for the day. Using your calculations from your nutritional meal guide to find out how many containers of each food group per day helps you not over or under eat on a particular food group helping YOU reach your personal fitness goals.
I start off with this list, I decided what we are going to eat for dinner first. I ask my hubby and boys if they want anything in particular to help them feel included. Getting your whole family involved in the meal planning and prepping process helps them realize it just doesn’t happen miraculously and that it takes time to plan, grocery shop and prep our foods for the week. I check with my hubby to see if he has any work events or preferences on food so we are all on the same page on the meals being prepped. I’ll ask him what of our new recipes does he want to repeat and are there any older ones he wants to add. Sometimes he has input and sometimes he doesn’t care…but I do like to ask his opinion. During football practice seasons I often try to make simple meals, so that we are not all stressed out during homework and right after school time.
Then, I head over to my blog. If there is a recipe I wanted to try I often post it to my blog with a photo that says image coming soon. These are ones I want to try and add to my recipe page. I looked today at my blog and realized I have 191 recipes added to my recipe page!! I though maybe I had 100…but I’m almost at 200!! WOW! that amazes me! It makes me excited to know I have created a resource for my family and others too!! ♥ I will then look at the recipes and add things to my grocery list from by blog or other recipes sources and calculate the containers. Then I plug in the lunches because they are usually leftovers from the night before…I sometimes adjust the containers…like take away cheese if I want to have an avocado or hummus the next day. Then Shakeology is always plugged in as my Breakfast or Snack. Then with the leftover containers I decided what my remaining snack will be! Then, BAM! Meal Plan is complete. When I have time I type it up for my challengers to see and add a blog post like this morning! ♥ Here you go! The Recipes can be found by typing the name in the “search” box in the upper right hand corner of my blog.
