In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes. -2 Corinthians 2:11
Be aware of Satan’s schemes!

“Dear Lord, please help me to focus on You today and the perfect plan You have for my life. I am reminded that boldly following You is so much better than any short-term experience that is not pleasing to You. Give me Your eyes so that I can see temptation and its many different faces. In Jesus’ name. Amen.” – Lysa TerKuerst from Made to Crave

Fit Tip: Things that influence metabolism.
Hormones – Something that is a major player in regulating metabolism is your thyroid. The thyroid hormone is responsible for regulating metabolism. One major job of the thyroid is to break down the food that we put in our body and use it for energy. Estrogen and progesterone levels affect our metabolism as well. Estrogen levels are responsible for fat storage around our hips and thighs, and both estrogen and progesterone are responsible for fat in breast tissue.
Hello stress!! This involves another hormone again — cortisol. Stress causes these levels to rise and this tells our body to hold on to weight, in particular belly fat.
Lean Muscle Mass. Muscle requires more energy to function, so the more lean muscle you put on the more your body will work. So pick band and weights, and drop to the floor for some pushups and planks!
Age. There is nothing stopping this — it is just part of the life cycle.
Body Size. Larger people in general have a faster metabolism because they literally have more surface area to keep their body functioning properly.
Gender. It is the nature of the best. Men just burn calories faster naturally.
Genetics. This does play a role in the rate of your metabolism. Whether a slow metabolism runs in your family, or a genetic disorder, this can be a challenge.
Exercise. Fitting regular exercise into your week will help to maintain your weight and keep your metabolism up.
Environment. The weather actually has an affect on your metabolism. If it is really hot or really cold outside, your body has to work to maintain its normal temperature.
Stimulants. Caffeine and nicotine can speed up metabolism, while anti-depressants can have the opposite affect.
Diet. Your diet can certainly affect your metabolism. Starvation or very low calorie diets, along with losing weight too fast can cause your metabolism to plummet.
